A relational, collaborative, and integrative approach to healing and growth
Therapy is a space for reflection, connection, and meaningful change. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through relationships, awareness, and an integrated understanding of our emotional, somatic, and social experiences.
I work collaboratively with clients to explore patterns, build insight, and develop tools that support growth, resilience, and a deeper sense of self.
My Approach
Beliefs & Experiences

I find deep meaning and inspiration in witnessing people’s resilience and their capacity to create meaningful changes in their lives. I believe that while the past informs who we are, it does not fully determine the present, and that healing and transformation are always possible.
I work from an anti-oppressive lens. Exploring social identities such as race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, age, and other lived experiences is an essential part of understanding how we relate to ourselves and others. These identities shape how we experience the world and how the world responds to us.
I view healing as deeply relational. Growth occurs when we can integrate our emotional, somatic, and social experiences into a more coherent understanding of ourselves.
Therapy, to me, is a collaborative partnership. The work is most meaningful when clients actively engage in their process, reflect between sessions, and apply what is explored in therapy to their daily lives.

Therapeutic Framework
My clinical work is informed by relational, family systems, and trauma-informed approaches. I focus on people’s strengths rather than pathologizing experiences, while also acknowledging the impact of broader social and systemic factors.
I have worked with individuals, couples, and families who have learned to manage intense emotions, improve communication, build trust, and develop healthier relational patterns. Many clients describe experiencing greater self-awareness, emotional freedom, confidence, and a renewed sense of meaning through our work together.

Mindfulness, Body Awareness & Nature
Movement-based practices, mindful breathing, and active meditation are an integral part of my life and inform my therapeutic presence. These practices support my ability to remain grounded, attuned, and intentional in my work with clients.
Spending time in nature (observing it, sensing it, and learning from it) helps me stay connected to myself, my clients, and the world around me. I believe that this connection enhances the therapeutic relationship and supports deeper emotional attunement.

Cultural Perspective
I was born and raised in Bolivia and am a native Spanish speaker. I have lived in Europe and Asia before moving to the United States. Experiencing different cultures and social contexts has shaped my appreciation for diverse perspectives, values, and ways of relating.
Living as an outsider in various contexts has deepened my understanding of how power, belonging, and identity influence relationships. I believe that supportive relationships and welcoming communities are essential components of healing, even though healing may look different for each person.

Training & Professional Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. I hold a B.A. in Education from Universidad Mayor de San Simón in Bolivia, an Ed.M. from Columbia University, and an M.S. in Social Work from New York University.
I completed postgraduate training in family therapy at the Ackerman Institute and am currently training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. My training emphasizes relational work, trauma-informed care, mind-body integration, and an awareness of systemic and social influences.
I view learning as a lifelong process and remain committed to ongoing reflection, professional development, and integration of new clinical knowledge.
